You already know that you could probably save thousands of pounds on your annual energy bills by installing the latest PFC system. Armed with the relevant information about your current set up, this calculator will let you see the costs of putting that system in place and starting to make those savings as soon as possible.
To use the calculator, you will need to know:
- the average power factor observed (can be seen at your meter or on the bill from your energy supplier),
- the desired power factor (should be minimum of 0.95),
- the active power (kW) drawn by the load or loads, depending on whether you need a distributed or centralized solution respectively*.
*..In a centralized system the daily duty load cycle should be considered, as very often, not all the loads work at the same time. In this case the overall unit size of the capacitor bank is much lower than the overall power that would be required with a distributed configuration.
Once inputted you will be given the size of the capacitor bank required and the list price of the system excluding installation costs.
Should you require any further clarification or think you may need a power quality survey please do not hesitate to call.
Disclaimer. The results of this calculator are wholly dependent on the data inputted and the results are to be used as an indication only. Should you require a full power quality survey please call to arrange for an engineer visit. The price quoted is based on PFC 5 system and does not include installation.
